Charity Networking: How to be Resilient

August 31, 2016 @ 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm

31st August | 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm – Join us for our charity drinks and networking event, where you’ll be guaranteed an interesting, fun and sociable evening! Our theme this evening will be on how to be more resilient in your working and personal life and how this can lead to greater fulfilment and wellbeing.

Self care is a priority, not a luxury.

In this session we will share four self-care strategies for you as a non profit worker. Learning and implementing these strategies will add to your self-care routine, which in turn will make you more resilient. We will focus on:

  • How to be with difficult emotions
  • How to recognise and ‘tame’ self sabotaging thoughts
  • How to establish and connect to your personal core values and purpose
  • How to acknowledge and celebrate your core strengths and skills
The session will be interactive and will give you access to tools you can take away and implement on a daily basis to help you avoid burn out.

Whether you come alone or with colleagues and friends, you’ll be warmly welcomed by our wonderful facilitators, who will introduce you to members of our community.

Guest speakers: Hannah Massarella CPCC & Nicola Arnold CPCC
Hannah set up Bird to use the coaching tools and techniques she had learnt to support others who are committed to positive change. Bird works both nationally and internationally coaching and training NGO workers, doctors, nurses, PhD students, lecturers, teachers and entrepreneurs in self care and resilience, so they can continue with their work passionately and in a sustainable way.

Nicola has over 18 years’ experience in helping individuals focus on their development both professionally and personally. Her passion is in supporting individuals to connect with who they really are and what they really want. She writes regularly for The Huffington Post on self care and authenticity. She firmly believes that if you want something you can’t just wish for it – you’ve got to make it happen! It’s about putting yourself first. So often in life we look after everybody else and do things to please others – what would it be like to focus your energy on you and what you would like too?
